I had been growing up in Korea listening K-pop
Only Pop that I listened to was Eminem, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce.
After I dropped out of High school to go to Japan as I was listening to J-pop/rock throughout my late adolescent. I wanted to sing in Japanese and debut as a solo artist.
Before I moved to Tokyo, I went to Jazz Academy in Seoul, Korea studied 1 year.
That period really impacted me broaden my ear of listening to other genres that I never heard such as Jazz, Funk, R&B, Rock, World Music etc.
Although I didn't fully engage the end of the course as I felt like it is not the clothes that I want to wear.
In Japan, I had a School band, made some tracks like Pop-Rock-Funk ish sound.
And when I ended up move to Ireland, I started to write a song with more experimental, Loop based. and then It got developed more skill in producing using A digital audio workstation 'Logic' and started to combining everything that I heard from my life at that time and the sound that I want to listen in the future.
So, If anyone asks me what kind of genre is my music. to be honest, I don't know.
It is EKE-POP.
You will hear Pop, Rock, Electronic, Garage, Hip-hop, Afro, Reggae, Grime, World music. etc.
